Group Three: Proposed Policy and its Importance
Throughout Project Citizen the main purpose or the main concern is how can we raise voter political conscience so that citizens know that the vote can change problems like corruption? To establish a significant awareness to the public about this problem, various public policies have been proposed and sought out that can make a problem like corruption non-existent in Ambos Nogales. The problem of corruption has not only created an environment that makes many people question the judgment of the city government, but makes them wonder whether the government is effective at all.
Using Project Citizen as an alternative to propose various policies that can raise political awareness throughout Ambos Nogales, group three in Mr. Thomson’s third period class is searching for ways that the problem can be fixed. But one alternative policy that can be used is to use the media, radio, or television to get the message across that corruption is one of the problems that is making Ambos Nogales suffer. Through these elements the citizens of Ambos Nogales will receive a better understanding of the things that are making the city governments more liable to embarrassment.
By proposing certain policies there is a better chance for the problem of corruption to be eliminated. Many things can be done in order to provide a better environment for the citizens of Ambos Nogales and by reducing or eliminating corruption it will create a more sufficient atmosphere. By educating the public about the benefits of voting, citizens are receiving valuable information that will help them get a better perspective on the candidates that are running for office and will perhaps eliminate the chances of the public voting for corrupt officers. The youth of today’s world should also get involved with politics, because it will serve as a first hand step that will make them realize the importance of their city governments. The law against corruption should also be enforced, as well as holding government officials responsible for making the citizens vote. All these policies are important issues that can perhaps change the way Ambos Nogales operates.
The significance of raising voter political conscience is to eliminate problems like corruption. The problem of corruption has established a living environment that has perhaps made other people wonder if this is a criminal establishment. Corruption creates scenarios where citizens question the judgment of government officials, as well as there own opinions about the city government. By making sure that citizens are aware of problems such as corruption, the city only becomes a better living environment for everyone.
