Militia Possible Policy
Group 2

As a border town there are many problems. In Nogales Arizona there has not been a problem with militias. Militias have become a problem in other border towns outside Nogales Arizona. The border patrol agents should be able to arrest the militia members. As a government class from Nogales High School we have come up with a project called project citizen. The militias are a problem that should be solved for the sake of all the people who are being killed for no reason.

Militias are groups of people that place them selves around the boarder and wait for illegal aliens then shot them. These groups have been forming around the towns of Arizona who live next to a boarder. The people who cross from across the line don’t know what is going on and are not expecting the militias. The people who cross don’t even know that there are such groups waiting for them to cross to just kill them with not knowing who they are or if they have a good intent of coming to this land of the rich. Many people are not in favor of the militias, well in Nogales Arizona at least, or any groups that will kill people for a sport or just for fun.

George Thomson a government teacher at Nogales High School came up with a project citizen. This project consists on helping the people from across the line (Nogales Sonora). This project will help prevent people who come illegally to this land getting killed by the militia members.

The border patrol agents have very little to say against militia members and leaders. “I have seen some militia members but I have never seen them kill some one but as much as we would like to arrest them we cant till we see them kill some one, the guns that they have all of them have license so me or any other border patrol agents have very little to say against that” Agent Sullivan a supervisor of the Border Patrol. As a policy for the problem the class has suggested to give more power to the boarder patrol and work as a good source to get rid of this problem.

As a policy the class has come up with the idea that the border patrol agents have the power to arrest any militia members and leaders and have them charged with man slaughtering or attempted murder. Agent Sullivan said “if I had the power to arrest them for doing such action towards illegal aliens they should be arrested because we are the ones who are going to take care of that problem”. The policy consists of the right given to agents of the border patrol agency to arrest militia members and leaders.
